Rebekah Brown

Rebekah grew up as an expat overseas, and while they knew the very basics of college admissions in the US, their family and their small international school were largely disconnected from the realities of college expectations. When Rebekah started attending Hamilton College as a full Pell grant recipient, however, they were invited to join a career readiness program that changed the trajectory of their entire academic and professional career. From their first semester, Rebekah learned career skills, including resume writing, interviewing, and networking.

Later on, developments in their family’s employment status and confusing financial changes almost cost Rebekah the financial aid package that allowed them to attend college. After exhausting every other option, Rebekah appealed the Financial Aid office’s decision. Ultimately their prior aid package was reinstated, allowing Rebekah to finish their degree and graduate as salutatorian of their class, with a double major in Creative Writing and Mathematics.

Now, Rebekah seeks to use the skills and knowledge they gained from their college experience to help others succeed as well.
